Local and informal Buddhist spaces

Dhamma Lighthouses

Metta Centre supports lay people who wish to offer all or part of their homes or business premises to support visiting monastics and Buddhist practitioners to stay temporarily, and offer opportunities for their local community to offer Dana and listen to the Dhamma. These spaces become Dhamma Lighthouses, connected together through Metta Centre, so they have the support of the Metta Centre community of volunteers to enable the hosts to manage these spaces sustainably and informally. This is particularly important in places like Australia, where it may be difficult to maintain many monasteries and Buddhist centres to cater for the large geographical area and diverse populations. Metta Centre currently supports the House of Metta in Revesby, Rhonda Place in Concord, and Dhamma Hub in Hornsby. Contact us if you wish to offer a space as part of the Dhamma Lighthouses project.
