In this gentle talk, Venerable Pañña will reflect on how patience can support the development of mettā—loving-kindness. They will explore how we relate to our own difficulties and the importance of meeting ourselves with steadiness and care. Drawing on the Dhamma and direct experience, this talk will offer encouragement to stay present with what’s here and now, and to allow mettā to grow naturally over time.

About the Presenter: Founder, spiritual director, and teacher, Tri Huie Fasu is a aboriginal-American Buddhist monk with over 20 years of global spiritual experience.

Tri Huie Fasu’s journey began in the inner cities of America and led him through the sands of Arabia, the forests of Africa, and the mountains of Asia. For 18 years, he studied and taught as both a Sunni and Shi’a Muslim student before embracing the Bodhisattva path.

He is the first foreigner—and first aboriginal-American to be ordained at Angkor Wat, the spiritual heart of Khmer Buddhist tradition. This rare honor, captured in photo and video, reflects the depth of trust placed in his heart and practice.

Later, guided by a vision of greater compassion and wisdom, he traveled to Taiwan, where he formally took up the Bodhisattva vows, committing to a life of boundless service and spiritual liberation for all beings.

Having lived and studied across Arabia, Africa, and Asia, he brings together the sacred teachings of the Buddha with the ancestral wisdom of his heritage. The Bodhisattva Society is his vow in motion: to serve, to guide, to liberate.
