The earliest recordings of what the Buddha taught are encapsulated in the various scriptural texts (“suttas”) in the Pali language. Those texts have been translated into English and various other languages to allow modern practitioners direct access to the records of what the Buddha taught to his disciplines over 2600 years ago. This course will take participants through essential suttas to understand the core teachings of the Buddha, with direct reference to the earliest recordings of his teachings.
